I’m Sean McMillan.
I’m a journalism student at Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication. I’ve been fascinated with media for as long as I can remember. When I was younger, I did musical theater, showchoir, garage bands— really anything to be in front of a crowd. I even had a cable access TV show when I was in junior high school. It was awful.
Once I got into college, I discovered my love for broadcasting, hosting the morning show on WOCR, Olivet College Radio. I created my own program, The Other Side, a show about paranormal phenomena and punk rock. It seemed like a great idea at the time. I got into programming and audio editing there and learned almost every aspect of radio production.
Years later, I combined my love for broadcasting with my love for a galaxy far, far away and launched Radio Free Tatooine, a Star Wars podcast that’s better than some and worse than others. That show’s now retired, but our spin-off show about the mobile game Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes, Galactic War Report has stayed on the air for over 7 years!
Now I’m finally finishing what I started and getting my bachelor’s degree in journalism at ASU. It’s been a long road, with a marriage, two kids, several cats & a dog to get to where I am, but I made it. Now go read my blog!
